Lara J. Gamelin, M.D.
Dr. Lara Gamelin completed all of her graduate training at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada in her home province of Saskatchewan. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomy. She completed her residency in Family Medicine and is board certified by the Canadian College of Family Practitioners and the American Board of Family Practitioners. Dr. Gamelin has been a partner and practicing physician at Corvallis Family Medicine since 2007.
Dr. Gamelin has been a private practice physician in Sutherlin, Oregon and in Corvallis. She says that “at CFM we’re an independent practice. We have control over the management of what happens to our patients.” She chose Family Medicine as her specialty because of the long term relationship with the entire family. She has a special interest in treating kids of all ages. She loves working with women’s health and is skilled at skin lesion removals and birth control procedures.
Dr. Gamelin volunteers as one of the medical physicians for OSU sporting events and has been an active board member for Girls on the Run, a self-esteem building curriculum for elementary school aged girls. She is a board member of IHN (Intercommunity Health Network) which unifies health services and systems for Oregon Health Plan members in Benton, Linn and Lane Counties.
In 2004 Dr. Gamelin was the first female Chief of Staff at Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg.
Dr. Gamelin enjoys being active by swimming and running and has completed four 50K races and several marathons, including the Boston Marathon. She likes to cook and enjoys time with her two children. She was recently certified in scuba diving.
